PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collar for animals so designed that a relevant animal cannot be set free even if a pair of junction gears on both ends of a belt are detached from each other and the junction gears are not hard to be detachable from each other. SOLUTION: This collar has such a construction that both ends of a belt 1 to be wound about the neck of a relevant animal such as a dog or cat is set up with a pair of detachable junction gears 3 and 12 for the belt 1 to make a ring, and one end of the belt 1 is set up with a junction ring 2 for connecting a pull string 31 to one end side of the belt 1; wherein the basal end of an auxiliary belt 21 is connected onto the inner side of the other end side of the belt 1, and the tip of the auxiliary belt 21 is attached with an auxiliary junction ring 24 to insert one end side of the belt 1 thereinto. This collar works as follows: the belt 1 is wound about the neck of a relevant animal, the auxiliary junction ring 24 on the tip of the auxiliary belt 21 is threaded with one end side of the belt 1, the pair of junction gears 3 and 12 situated outside the auxiliary belt 21 are connected to each other, and a junction gear 32 for the pull string 31 is connected to the junction ring 2 and the auxiliary junction ring 24.
