PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for an elevator car door preventing a finger from being caught in a clearance. SOLUTION: The clearances 8A and 8B formed between the car door 4A and 4B and side plates 2A and 2B are covered with flexible sheets 5A and 5B provided in the front ends of the car door 4A and 4B, having one ends fixed to the insides of the front side plates 2A and 2B and the other ends stored in the car doors 4A and 4B and supported by a spring 6 in opening/closing the car door 4A and 4B.
