PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for producing metal powder from molten metal are provided in which droplets of molten metal are not only directly atomized but also further micronized by a rotary disk so that fine powder having a narrower particle size distribution is obtained, and cohesion of scattered particulate droplets is prevented. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for producing metal powder from molten metal in which fine powder is manufactured by atomizing and solidifying molten metal tapped through a molten metal nozzle(9) using shear force and centrifugal force on a rotary disk(8) generated by a high speed rotation means(2) under the inert or reductive atmosphere, the apparatus comprises a plurality of gas jet nozzle means(50) for forming finer particulate droplets by jetting a high pressurized gas from the outlet of the molten metal nozzle(9) to the rotary disk(8). In an apparatus for manufacturing metallic powder from molten metal in which fine powder is manufactured by atomizing and solidifying molten metal tapped through a molten metal nozzle(9) using shear force and centrifugal force on a rotary disk(8) generated by a high speed rotation means(2) under the inert or reductive atmosphere, the apparatus comprises one or more of disks selected from the group consisting of a second rotary disk and a third rotary disk for preventing cohesion of particulate and further micronizing the particulate by recolliding particulate droplets scattered from the rotary disk(8).
