PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic oil applying device for a rail capable of applying a proper quantity of oil to parts requiring lubrication between a rail and a flange part of a wheel. SOLUTION: A lubricating part 11A of this automatic oil applying device 1 for the rail is formed with a nozzle 21 for jetting oil toward the side face S of a rail head part H abutting on a flange part F of a wheel W at the side of a rail R, in a position away from the rail R below the upper face of the rail head part H.
