PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp to be a straight pipe type without including harmful mercury and by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A fluorescent layer 4 and an aluminum back 3 are formed as luminescent layers 5 on an internal surface of a cylindrical glass tube 6. A conductive wire 1 applied with an electron emission substance to the surface is elongated at a position of a center shaft of the glass tube 6. A center shaft of a cylindrical mesh electrode 2 is aligned with the center shaft of the glass tube 6.
