PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the attaching and detaching of an ion exchange functional material as well as the reproduction of the same and elongate the exchanging period or the reproducing period of the ion exchange functional material to produce water high in transparency in a refrigerator. SOLUTION: The refrigerator is provided with a pump 7 for feeding water from a feed water tank 1, arranged in a refrigerating chamber 101, into an ice making pan 103, arranged in a freezing chamber 102, while the feed water tank 1 is formed of a tank main body, whose upper surface is opened, and a tank cover 3, provided detachably so as to close the upper surface opening of the tank main body 4, and a water softening cartridge 20, receiving the ion exchange functional material 14 in the vessel of the same, is attached detachably to the tank cover 3.
