The invention relates to driving apparatus and method for plasma display panel. The scan signals are applied to the downward portions of the sustain discharge signals and thus the width of the sustain discharge signals is reduced. The upward portions and downward portions of the sustain discharge signals are used as the scan wave form, extending the time in which an address is being capable. By applying the scan signals and the sustain discharge signals having the phase difference of the scan signal's width, the time intervals between the address signals are used as a time in which the address is being capable and, therefore, the time of the address is increased.
