PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component turn over device and method, that can turn a component over, when the component is stored. SOLUTION: A component 2 is held on a plate-type component holder 171a. The component holder is rotated about a rotation axis, in a state in which the component is held on the component holder. After the component holder has been rotated by about 180 deg. about the rotation axis, holding of the component, which is held by the component holder, is released by operation of releasing holding of the component in the component-holding release device, so that the component is stored in the component storing section.
