PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device of high reliability without the occurrence of a problem such as the interruption of screens even continuous data like image data or speech data or the interruption of sounds. SOLUTION: In case a retry occurs on account of a failure in recording or reproducing, a transfer speed of recording or reproducing and the transfer speed of this image or speech data are compared and the retry is performed only when the transfer speed described above is sufficiently higher than the transfer speed of recording or reproducing to a disk. When the transfer speed of recording or reproducing falls below a certain threshold, the recording or reproducing is continued in spite of the error without making the retry.
