DETERGENT COMPOSITION AND CLEANING METHOD FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCT MANUFACTURING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent for cleaning solid organic substances attached to a petroleum refining apparatus and a petrochemical product manufacturing apparatus which manufacture petroleum products and petrochemical products, and a method for cleaning the solid organic substances. SOLUTION: The detergent for removing solid organic substances built up on a petroleum product manufacturing apparatus comprises (A) component A composed of an anionic surface active agent and a nonionic surface active agent and (B) component B composed of a 9-18C aromatic hydrocarbon and/or a naphthene hydrocarbon at a content weight ratio (A/B) of component A to component B of 0.25-2.5. It is particularly preferred that the anionic surface active agent of component A is a sulfonate salt and/or sulfuric ester salt and the nonionic surface active agent of component A is a polyalkylene glycol and/or a fatty acid alkanolamide.
