DISTORTION MEASURING CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distortion measuring optical fiber cable having a sufficient follow-up property to expansion and contraction of an object to be monitored. SOLUTION: In this distortion measuring cable comprising an optical coated fiber 2 and a reinforcing material 1, a super-elastic alloy is used as the reinforcing material. Since the super-elastic alloy has an elasticity limit larger than that of the optical fiber, the elongation of the reinforcing material is sufficiently settled within the elastic limit even if an elongation close to the elasticity limit of the optical fiber is caused in the object to be monitored. Therefore, the reinforcing material can be also restored to the original length after the contraction of the object to be monitored, and the optical fiber cable can be made surely follow the expansion and contraction of the object to be monitored.
