PURPOSE: A breakwater for communicating tides is provided to retain a clear water quality by passing the tides between inland and open seas through a drainage culvert while maintaining certain temperature of water surface with continuous flowing. CONSTITUTION: The breakwater(WB) comprises a base stand(2) made of an inclined stone(3) onto undersea side; a culvert(4) over the base stand(2); protrusions(5,5a) front and backsides of the culvert(4); a unit structure(30), an intermediate structure(31) and an inland structure(32) onto an inclined stone(3a) by a certain height; longitudinal wall bodies(10a) and transverse compartments(11a,11b) alternatively mounted inside the respective structures(30,31,32); 'Y' form spans formed as a projection(13) at each cross-point of the wall bodies and the compartments.
