PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC socket having no fear of losing covers and easy to fit or remove. SOLUTION: This IC socket comprises a base 10 and a pair of covers 20. Fixed contact terminals 13 are arranged in parallel at a prescribed pitch at both side edge sections of opposite sides of the base 10, and a pair of turning support shaft sections 15 are protruded on the same axis from a pair of sidewalls 14 erected at both side edge sections of the remaining sides. The covers 20 form a nearly U-shape, with arm sections 22 extended from both ends of a cover body 21 respectively. First and second support holes 23 and 24 communicated with each other and coupled with the rotary support shaft sections 15 are provided at the free ends of the arm sections 22 respectively. The cover 20 is rotated and locked, with the shaft section 15 coupled with the second support hole 24 used as a fulcrum. The cover 20 is horizontally pulled and unlocked so that the shaft section 15 coupled with the second support hole 24 is coupled with the first support hole 23.
