PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a gross reading error of a measuring memory of a dial gage is generated in measurement of a part to be measured by the dial gage if the shape and the structure of the part to be measured are complicated and the measuring memory of the dial gage is not installed on the straight facing position to a measurer. SOLUTION: This measuring auxiliary tool of the dial gage comprises a pair of arm parts 13a, 13b elongated from one end of a pedestal part 12 and fixed, gripping parts 14a, 14b installed on the other ends of the arm parts 13a, 13b, for sandwiching the part to be measured, a clamping screw 17 installed on middle parts of the arm parts for sandwiching the part to be measured by the gripping parts 14a, 14b, and a measuring part 15 installed on the other end of the pedestal part 12 and having a plane for allowing a contact part of the dial gage to abut thereon. In this method, a gage head of the dial gage is allowed to abut and placed on the plane of the measuring part 15 of the measuring auxiliary tool, and the part to be measured is measured.
