PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance print image quality by hindering a sudden change in the transfer speed of an instant film which occurs the moment a liquid developer pod is torn open. SOLUTION: In a digital instant camera 1 with built-in the optical printer, a fixed exposure head 23 emits printing light to an instant film 26 stored in a film pack 9, and a development process is performed by a feed roller 30. The instant film 26 is carried away from the camera by the feed roller 30. In synchronization with the transfer of the film 26, the exposure head 23 emits the printing light. The moment the liquid developer pod is crushed by the feed roller 30, the speed at which the instant film 26 is transfered tends to suddenly increase. However, a brake roller 36 can hinder the tendency. Thus, the printing light can be securely emitted.
