METHOD FOR CONTROLLING EIGHT-CYLINDERS ENGINE USING ONE CRANK ANGLE SENSOR

PURPOSE: A method for controlling 8-cylinders engine using one Crank Angle Sensor(CAS) is provided to reduce prime cost and reduce the frequency of the error generation related to the CAS. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling 8-cylinders engine using one crank angle sensor(CAS) comprises the steps of; calculating On/Off durations of a crank signal using a signal generated from a cam position sensor and the crank signal related to the 4-cylinders of the 8-cylinders internal combustion engine generated from a CAS; and sensing a signal related to the other 4-cylinders of the 8-cylinders engine using the calculated On/Off durations of the crank signal and the crank signal related to the 4-cylinders generated from the CAS.
