PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively acquire accurate coordinates and accurately detect the shape of a surface of an object to be measured by correcting measured coordinates. SOLUTION: This coordinate measuring device for scanning the surface of the solid object to be measured and measuring X-coordinates, Y-coordinates, and Z-coordinates in an X-Y-Z orthogonal coordinate system at every predetermined point of measurement comprises a mounting means which is arranged in the X-Y-Z orthogonal coordinate system in such a way as to be freely moved in the Y-axis direction and to which the object to be measured is mounted, detecting means each arranged at both ends of the mounting means along the Y-axis direction for detecting the amounts of movement of both ends in the Y-axis direction, and a coordinate correcting means for computing the inclination of the mounting means from each difference of the amounts of movement of both ends of the mounting means in the Y-axis direction detected by the detecting means and correcting the coordinates according to the computed inclination of the mounting means.
