PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning arrester which is less deformed by a force applied in a twisting direction. SOLUTION: This lightning arrester 20 is equipped with terminal electrodes 22 and 23 arranged on the ends of a current limiter 21. FRP rods 26 are inserted into rod inserting holes 22d and 23d bored in the terminal electrodes 22 and 23 and fixed to the terminal electrodes 22 and 23 while the FRP rods 26 are stretched. A force of compressing a space between the terminal electrodes 22 and 23 acts on the arrester 20, so that the lightning arrester 20 is improved in rigidity and less deformed by a force applied in the direction of distortion. By this setup, electrical conductivity between the terminal electrodes 22 and 23 and the current limiter 21 can be kept in a good state.
