PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a simplified swivel hose joint constituted to prevent a joint body and a pipe body from slipping off by means of a elastic C ring that a part of an end part on the opening side of an engaging groove, which abuts on the elastic C ring, is deformed by a large force locally given when hydraulically acting, and the deformation inhibits good relative rotations of the joint body and the pipe body. SOLUTION: The simplified swivel hose joint comprises a joint body 12, a rigid pipe body 14 having an inserted part 39 to be rotatably inserted into the joint body 12 on the axially front end side and a connection part to a hose at the rear end, an elastic C ring 56 retained to rotate integrally in a retaining groove 54 of the joint body 12 and the engaging groove 58 provided on the pipe body 14 side for allowing the elastic C ring 56 to be engaged therein. After chamfering a part of an opening-side edge of the engaging groove 58, which abuts on the elastic C ring 56 and is applied with axial pressure, a tapered surface 66 contacting the elastic C ring 56 is formed thereon.
