The present invention provides a fuel composition comprising: (a) a fuel; and (b) one or more polyglycerol esters of a fatty acid; wherein the fuel composition contains monoglycerides, diglycerides and triglycerides in a combined amount of less than wt.%, based on the total content of polyglycerol esters of a fatty acid, monoglycerides, diglycerides and triglycerides, and the polyglycerol ester is an ester of a mixture of fatty acids present in an amount of no greater than 0.5 wt.% based on the total fuel composition.
