PURPOSE: To provide a recording information management device and its method and a recording information management system for making it possible for another AV apparatus to share also the information recorded in a recording medium by a prescribed AV apparatus in a network of a plurality of AV apparatus connected through a digital interface. CONSTITUTION: In the network system, a plurality of AV apparatus including D-VHS 13 and AV-HDD 12 are connected through a digital interface in network connection. While the information is stored in a magnetic tape 13a though the D-VHS 13, the information about the recording information is stored in a hard disk 12a through the AV-HDD 12, and the information stored in the hard disk 12a is reproduced through the AV-HDD 12, and thereby the information stored in the magnetic tape 13a can be managed.
