PURPOSE: An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is provided to make difference of current of three electron beams constant during the initial operation of three electron beams, while improving reliability of the CRT by shortening the time taken for stabilizing current. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun includes a triode having a plurality of cathodes, the first electrode for controlling electron beams emitted from cathodes, and the second electrode spaced apart from the first electrode, and which accelerates electron beams. A left bead portion(34R) and a right bead portion(34B) which are buried into the bead glass in the first electrode or second electrode, are formed into an asymmetric structure centering from the central electron beam passing hole, in such a manner that three electron beams have the same amount of current.
