PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of generation of a periodical alternating vortex (Karman vortex) on the downstream side from an object when placing the object in a fluid, generating of a fluid sound having a sharp peak in a narrow zone, and simultaneously generating a periodical vibration. SOLUTION: In this suppression device of the alternating vortex and its method, equipped with a current plate 2 installed inside a structure such as a duct 1 or the like through which the fluid passes, and having a blowout hole 24 formed on a downstream end part 22, and a means for sending the fluid to the inside of the straightening plate 2, and jetting out the fluid toward the outside from the blowout hole 24, the alternating vortex 7 discharged from the downstream side end part 22 of the straightening plate 2 is suppressed by the fluid jetting out from the blowout hole 24 of the downstream side end part 22.
