FIELD: metallurgy; refining of cast-iron and steel by synthetic slag and modifying by active elements for improvement of their quality. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes continuous introduction of definite mixture onto bottom of reservoir filled with melt at temperature not below 1300 C; said mixture contains oxides of rare-earth metals, oxides and/or carbonates of alkali-earth metals, borate ore, aluminum and silicon in the following amounts, mass-%: (1 to 10), (50 to 70), (2 to 5), (5 to 20) and (20 to 35) at consumption of 0.5 to 5.0 kg/t. Proposed method makes it possible to perform simultaneous refining and modifying during protracted period of time at developed surface of reaction and low content of sulfur in melt with fine grain, low contamination of steel with non-metallic inclusions and favorable form of graphite in cast-iron. EFFECT: possibility of manufacturing high-quality cast-iron and steel with fine grain and low contamination with non- metallic inclusions. 2 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex |
