PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inner-widened rib-knitted fabric, not forming holes at the inner-widened part, making the knitted textures of its surface and reverse at the inner-widened part as similar so as to be able to be adopted in both of its reverse surface and a very conspicuous part, and a method for knitting the same. SOLUTION: This inner-widened rib-knitted fabric is obtained by forming an empty needle knit loop at the lateral direction of surface stitches and reverse stitches in a state of nipping rib-knitted wales of a part for performing the stitch widening, and moving the empty needled knit loop between the surface stitches and reverse stitches of the wales so as to form the rib wales with the surface stitch loop of the wales and the empty knit loop of the reverse stitch side, and also with the reverse stitch loop of the wales and the empty knit loop at the surface side to form the knitted fabric having the same knitted texture in the surface and reverse surface without a hole.
