PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make small the increase in yarn tension at the completion of weft take-up. SOLUTION: Yarn guides 17, 18 are supported by a support frame 16 between the weft trap for measuring the weft length 11 and the main nozzle for weft insertion 13. A compression spring 20 energizes the yarn guide 21. A yarn route changer 23 is rotatably attached to the output axis 221 of the stepping motor 22 supported by the supporting frame 16. A pair of yarn guides 24, 25 are supported by the yarn route changer 23. A plate spring 19 is attached to the yarn route changer 23 and the yarn guide 21 is attached to the top end of the plate spring 19. The weft yarn Y is threaded through the yarn guides 17, 24, 25, 21 and 18. When the yarn route changer 23 is allowed to turn anticlockwise around the output axis 221 from the position shown in the figure 1, the yarn route between the yarn guides 17 and 18 is bent.
