PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump turbine capable of reducing the size of an under cover. SOLUTION: In this pump turbine having a runner and the under cover 30 positioned under the runner and annularly installed around the rotating shaft of the runner, the under cover 30 comprises a baffle plate (upper plate) 31, a space part 38 installed on the inner diameter lower side of the baffle plate 31 and filled with concrete, and a drain box 32 installed on the outer diameter lower side of the baffle plate 31 and allowing water to flow therein.
