PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of electronic equipment in all cases of the case where this device is made to be in an operation holding state directly and the case where the device is made to be in the operation holding state indirectly by using a detecting means of the detection of a received level or the like and, moreover, to notify a user of the outline of current operation states in a state in which the power consumption of the device is reduced without releasing the operation holding state. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a microcomputer 9 which controls compositely a main operation part 10 having an MD(magnetic disk) part and a CD(compact disk) part and a clock part and a key entry part 4 and an LCD display 5 are connected to the microcomputer 9. Moreover, an oscillation part 3 and a frequency divider 2 supplying a reference operation clock signal with respect to the computer 9 are connected the computer 9 and an operation holding key 7 for inhibiting the operation command of the key entry part 4 is connected to the computer 9. At a normal time when the operation holding key 7 is turned OFF, a display scroll is displayed normally on the LCD display 5 and when a clock frequency is a normal value and the operation holding key 7 is turned ON, the display scroll of the display 5 is inhibited and the clock frequency is lowered.
