FERRULE FOR OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule for an optical fiber which can have a pipe excellently fixed and molded and is easy to manufacture as to a ferrule for an optical connector which connects an optical fiber. SOLUTION: For the ferrule which optically couples optical fibers by fixing and holding their end parts and inserting them from both the sides of a sleeve, a metallic or nonmetallic pipe 4 which has a cut part 8 to be filled with resin or a projection part 9 projecting into a cylinder at one or more places at the rear end part or tip end part of the cylinder is used and the base part 2 of the ferrule is sheathed with the pipes by insertion molding and the rear end part of this pipe 4 is embedded in a collar part 5 formed at the base part.
