PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker enabling easy inspection of its characteristics and easy adjustment of its characteristics. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker has a cover 1b inside which a pair of sub partitioning ribs 72 and 72 facing each other is formed in width direction of the cover 1b. Stoppers 73 and 73 which contact with ends of a handle axis 8 and are caught at them are disposed at positions on facing surfaces of the sub partitioning ribs 72 and 72 respectively, wherein the positions front on a handle inserting hole 29. As a body 1a can pre-fix the cover 1b by catching the stoppers 73 and 73 at the ends of the handle axis 8 and lifting of the cover 1b from the body 1a can be prevented without fixing the cover 1b to the body 1a with screws, inspections of its characteristics can be carried out easily by clearing anxiety about imprudent open main circuit state caused by handle hitting to an inner wall of the handle inserting hole 29 of the cover 1b and the cover 1b can be split away easily from the body 1a by releasing caught state of the stoppers 73 and 73 at the ends of the handle axis 8. Thereby easier characteristics adjusting work than that of a conventional circuit breaker becomes possible.
