METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WATER-REPELLENT DRY GEL, AND HEAT INSULATING MATERIAL USING THE GEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to enhance the heat insulating performance of a dry gel much more though the concentration of a raw material to be gelated is adjusted for enhancing the heat insulating performance when the dry gel is used as a heat insulating material. SOLUTION: The dry gel having optimum heat insulating performance and lower thermal conductivity is obtained by using an alkoxysilane as the raw material to be gelated and controlling the gelating temperature to be <=50 deg.C and the gel aging temperature to be 20-50 deg.C.
