PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric leg warmer wherein minus ion of a predeter mined quantity is produced stably, and minus ion is produced or interrupted in its production. SOLUTION: Once a user turns on an operation switch 24, high voltage generated on a secondary coil 67 is converted to twice DC voltage for example with the aid of a predetermined circuit to bring a contact h to a high voltage of minus 5 kV to minus 7 kV, which high voltage is applied to a needle electrode 70 being one electrode. Since the tip end of the needle electrode 70 has a very large gradient of an electric potential, electrons are emitted into the atmosphere from the needle electrode to which high voltage is applied, and adhere to neutral molecules in the air to produce minus ion. The minus ion moves in an electric field toward an infrared heater 4 being the other electrode forming the electric field between it and the needle electrode 70. The ion is carried into the electric leg warmer 1 with warm air by fan air from a fan 58 in the course of the minus ion.
