PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole type pumping installation capable of preventing putrefaction of waste water to prevent generation of malodor by sprinkling some of waste water in a manhole while securing the main function of a pump without electric parts having the fear of failure in a water conveying pipe. SOLUTION: In this manhole type pumping installation, a pump 3 is installed in a manhole 1, inflow waste water is conveyed to sewage treatment works by the pump 3. The apparatus is provided with a sprinkling branch pipe 6 branching from the water conveying pipe 5 of the pump 3 and a float valve 7 disposed in the sprinkling branch pipe 6, and closed in the waste water full- load state and opened in the water decreasing state to sprinkle some of the waste water in the manhole 1.
