PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber unit with which the time necessary for stabilizing the optical characteristic by means of the temperature control of the optical fiber is shortened and which optical fiber contributes to decrease cost and to miniaturization of a whole device in which the optical fiber is used. SOLUTION: The optical unit 1 is provided with a pipe-shaped heat insulation member 3 which is disposed outside the optical fiber 2, a heat generating member 4 composed of such a wire material having flexibility and a proper resistance as a Ni-Cr wire and located between the optical fiber 2 and the heat insulation member 3 and a temperature detection element 5 which detects the temperature of the optical fiber 2, and the whole optical fiber unit itself has flexibility to be wound up into a circle or an ellipsoid.
