PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a detection-system optical member reduces fluorescence excited and emitted by ultraviolet rays and in which an ultraviolet light source capable of reducing a background noise generated in image data is used as an excitation light source. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with the ultraviolet light source 3 used to emit the ultraviolet rays 2, a sample stage 5 used to mount a sample 4 containing a specimen electrically labeled by a fluorescent material excitable by the ultraviolet rays, a photodetector 8 in which the fluorescent material contained in the sample is excited by the ultraviolet rays emitted from the ultraviolet light source and by which the emitted fluorescence is detected photoelectrically and a camera obscura 6, and an optical system 10 which does not reflect the ultraviolet rays emitted from the ultraviolet light source and which reflects the fluorescence emitted from the fluorescent material contained in the sample so as to be guided to the photodetector is installed inside the camera obscura.
