PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug installing structure easy in setting an arranging position in a specific position in a combustion chamber of an earth electrode when finally installing a spark plug in a plug arranging hole of a cylinder head for excellently obtaining ignitability to an air-fuel mixture. SOLUTION: An igniter for an internal combustion engine of an embodiment has a connecting fixing member 33 having two plug fixing members 31, and is constituted so that the spark plug 11 is fixed to the plug arranging hole 51a of the cylinder head 51 by energization of the plug fixing members 31. That is, since a fixing method of the spark plug 11 is not a fixing method by threaded engagement, a relative position of the earth electrode 21 to the cylinder head can be set in the specific position by vertically inserting the spark plug 11 into the plug arranging hole 51a. Work manhours in arranging work of the plug fixing members 31 can be reduced by using the connecting fixing member 33 having a plurality of plug fixing members 31.
