PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water sealing structure of joint capable of facilitating the excavation, washing and earth discharge of a pipe bottom part in the construction of a joint for steel pipe sheet pile, and sufficiently filling a filler to the pipe bottom part even in a long pipe, and a construction method thereof. SOLUTION: In this construction method of the joint comprising a CT section steel 2 extending along one steel pipe B of a steel pipe pile, which is fixed to the one pipe, and a pipe 3 having a CT section steel insert groove 4 longitudinally formed thereon, which is fixed to the other steel pipe A so as to extend along the steel pipe, the CT section steel 2 being housed in the pipe 3, a water shielding plate 14 is provided on the CT section steel 2 as means for interrupting the inflow of water and sludge from the CT section steel insert groove 4 to the internal space 7 of the pipe 3. After the inflow of water and sludge to the internal space 7 is interrupted by inserting the CT section steel 2 into the pipe 3, the water in the internal space 7 is drained, and a filler 8 such as asphalt mixture or mortar is filled in the internal space 7.
