PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the exhaustion of black smoke, which enables the prevention in the operation fluctuation of a coke oven on the switching of an exhaust gas route and further enables the control of a switching device and a dust-collecting timing to lower the cost of the operation. SOLUTION: This method for preventing the exhaustion of the black smoke with an exhaust gas-exhausting device of the coke oven in which the first route passing through a dust collector in the exhaust gas route of the coke oven and the second route not passing through the dust collector are switchably disposed in parallel is characterized by adjusting the aperture of the first damper device disposed on the upstream side of a branch point so that the draft pressure of the upstream side is constant, when the second damper disposed between the branch point and the dust collector and a cutoff valve disposed in the second route are alternately opened or closed. The exhaustion route of the exhaust gas is switched into the first route passing through the dust collector during the operation of the coke oven or into the second route not passing through the dust collector when the coke oven is not operated.
