PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of improving imaging characteristics by increasing a quantity of light emitting from a fiber optical plate and received on a solid state imaging element. SOLUTION: The imaging device 10 comprises (1) the fiber optical plate formed by bundling a plurality of optical fibers 21 each having a core 22 and a clad 23 covering an outer periphery of the core 22 and having a light incident surface 25 and a light emitting surface 26 inclined to an optical axis of the fiber 21; (2) a plurality of columnar crystals 40 each having permeability, formed on the surface 26 of the plate 20; and (3) the solid state imaging element 30 having a photoelectric converter 32 arrayed and formed in a two-dimensional state on a main surface of a semiconductor substrate and optically coupled to the plurality of the crystals 40.
