PURPOSE: A gob weight control system is provided to control, in an efficient manner, descending length of the needle on the basis of the weight of gob measured with accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A gob weight control system comprises a lower mold(30) forming a frame for forming glass products for cathode ray tube; a bowl(22) disposed onto the lower mold, and which forms a gob(19); an elevatable needle(27) disposed within the bowl, and which pushes, when lowered, the gob toward the lower mold through a gob outlet formed at the bowl; a needle driving unit(31) disposed at the top of the needle, and which adjusts elevation height of the needle; a gob weight detection unit for measuring weight of the gob; and a control unit for controlling descending length of the needle, by comparing the weight of the gob detected by the gob weight detection unit and a reference value.
