PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick and highly-reliable quality determination method of a capacitor. SOLUTION: In a preliminary charge process 11, a direct-current voltage for preliminary charge higher than a direct-current voltage for measurement in a measuring voltage application process 13 is applied to the capacitor, to thereby perform the preliminary charge. Then, in a discharge process 12, discharge is performed. In the measuring voltage application process 13, the direct- current voltage for measurement is applied, while the overcharged state is maintained. Simultaneously, in a current behavior evaluation process 14, the behavior of the current flowing in the capacitor is evaluated. In the current behavior evaluation process 14, the quality of the capacitor is determined based on the fact that, when the capacitor is a quality product, a current hardly flows or a negative current flows relative to the direct-current voltage for measurement, according to the balance between a current caused by the charge charged in the preliminary charging process 11 and a current caused by the direct-current voltage for measurement, and when the capacitor is a defective product, a positive current flows relative to the direct-current voltage for measurement.
