PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring the shape of an object having improved measuring accuracy and efficiency. SOLUTION: In the measuring method of an object shape, the projection image of an object that is projected by a projector is transmitted to a personal computer that is connected to the projector, the projected image is projected on the screen of the personal computer, and at the same time length, a diameter, an angle, and the like are calculated from the two-dimensional coordinates data in the projected image. In the measuring method of an object shape, a plurality of measuring standard tools are brought into contact with the side of the object so that they can freely advance and retreat, and the standard end of the measurement is determined by supporting the object by the measuring standard tools for measuring the object shape. The measuring standard tools comprise a center fixing tool and a left fixed standard tool. The center fixing tool is brought into contact with the tip of a container opening section from the upper section. At the same time, the left contact rod of the left fixed standard tool is brought into contact with a screw section side, thus measuring a screw diameter, screw skirt height, or a skirt angle with the left contact rod as a standard edge in the measuring method of the object shape.
