PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent meandering of a strip in a continuous heat treatment furnace without influence by a sealing device arranged at an outlet of the furnace. SOLUTION: This furnace arranges a rear chamber 62 in the most downstream position of the furnace, the sealing device 8 at the outlet of the rear chamber 62, which shuts out atmosphere in the furnace from an outside air by hermetically pressing from both sides of the strip St passing in the furnace, and accommodates a steering roll 46 which is installed at the outlet side for resolving meandering of the strip St inside the back chamber 62 in the upper stream side than the sealing device 8.
