PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a waterproofing method which can form a new waterproof layer in a short period of time without separating or removing an existing film. SOLUTION: Acoording to the waterproofing method, a waterproof fabric having waterproofness and weatherability imparted thereto, is obtained by coating a fiber cloth with a resin. Then, the waterproof fabric thus obtained is rigidly mounted on the existing film surface of a building without removing the same, and a peripheral portion of the waterproof fabric is sealed. With respect to the resin, at least one type of resin is selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl chloride, a natural rubber, a synthetic rubber, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin, a silicone resin, a fluorocarbon resin, an olefin resin, a acrylic resin, and a polyurethane resin. Then, at least a single surface of the fiber cloth is coated with the one or more resins, and the resultant waterproof fabric is employed.
