PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong a life of a hand rail device for a passenger conveyor and to reduce sliding noise. SOLUTION: Hand rail guides 3a and 3b are fixed to a hand rail guide frame 2 with a strip-shaped fixing member 4 that gives tension in the longitudinal direction. By doing so, a fixing screw 5 is placed at a position where the contact pressure is low. Also, by sharing part of load that is applied to the hand rail guides 3a and 3b from a hand rail 6, using the strip-shaped fixing member 4, the contact pressure that is applied to the hand rail guides 3a and 3b are reduced. By providing a material with a low friction coefficient on the plane where the fixing member 4 is in contact with the hand rail 6, it becomes possible to reduce the tension of the hand rail and also reduce the contact pressure.
