PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the hold of a metal fitting. SOLUTION: To a tower part 20 of a housing, a cavity 25 into which, a terminal fitting 10 is inserted, is formed and a lance 26 preventing slip off of a metal fitting 10 from the lower surface side of a cavity 25 is protrusively formed. The lance 26 has a cantilever-shaped arm part 27 which can bend and deform downwards, and a locking part 28 to be locked with a metal fitting 10. The front end part of the arm part 27 is made to serve as an operation part 38 which is more protruded frontward than the locking part 28. A front retainer 40, having a deflection restraining part 42 which can restrict the deflection of the lance 26 by thrusting into the space for the deflection of the lance 26, can be mounted to the tower part 21 from front side. A reverse motion restraining part 48 which can be thrust into the space between the operation part 38 and the terminal fitting 10 is formed to the front retainer 40. When a force, making the lance 26 move upward against the direction of deflection when inserted, is acted on, the operation part 38 locks with the reversed movement restraining part 48, and the reversed movement of the lance is restricted.
