PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inventory transportation system backup maintenance device with which a relevant crane can be replaced in less time and which can minimize deterioration in the production rate. SOLUTION: The inventory transportation system backup maintenance device which is applied to the crane replacement operation for an inventory transportation system which consists of a rail, a crane, and an entrance end has a transportation means which is equipped with at least one or more transportation rails and a loading main unit, connects the aforementioned transportation means to a rail of the inventory transportation system via the entrance end of the inventory transportation system, carries out a crane which requires repair or maintenance and stores it into the relevant transportation means, connects a transportation means in which an extra crane is stored to the entrance end of the inventory transportation system, and brings the extra crane in to the rail of the inventory transportation system.
