PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable disk cartridge with which the accidental insertion of a disk holder into a cartridge case is surely prevented. SOLUTION: This disk cartridge has the cartridge case which is provided with a head insertion section and a driving shaft insertion section in prescribed positions and has an opening 11 for insertion of the disk holder on the one side face, the disk holder 2 which is insertably and removably housed into the cartridge case 1 and has a disk holding section 12 and a disk 3 for recording which is attachably and detachably held in the disk holder 2, in which accidental insertion preventing sections 22 and 27 are respectively formed at the side end of the opening 11 for disk holder insertion of the cartridge case 1 and the side end corresponding to the case side end of the disk holder 2.
