PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reproducing device, in which the Temporary Lead Out is recordable on the position specified by the user when a disk is unloaded by interrupting a background format and recording the Temporary Lead Out. SOLUTION: A reception means is furnished (step S1) for accepting the Temporary Lead Out position (TLO position) specified by the user, and by means of recording the Temporary Lead Out (Y of S4, S5) on this accepted position, the recording to the Temporary Lead Out position is guaranteed to be made on the position specified by the user in the background format process, then the information recording medium with the data size desired by the user is allowed to be prepared.
