PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that enables a unit to be constituted without manufacturing a unit frame and simplifies the structure of the unit. SOLUTION: The unit of the power converter comprises: a power conversion circuit constituted of a diode, a transformer and the like; a tank 1a that stores insulating oil for the insulating maintenance of the power conversion circuit; a bursting valve 2 that protects the tank 1a from being damaged when the internal pressure of the tank 1a rises; a capacitor 4, a resistor 5 and a current detector 6 that form a peripheral circuit; and a control board 7. The bottom plate 8 of the tank 1a is expanded frontward and the peripheral circuit is mounted on a part where the bottom plate 8 of the tank is expanded, thus serving as the unit frame.
